The nation is celebrating Press Day...
They have to.... because Indian Press is growing rapidly. We today have Online editions of almost all the leading Dailies be it The Tribune, Times of India, Punjab Kesari, Ajit or other regional dailies. but it is also a perfect time for the Journalists, Academicians, Journalism students and the Think Tank to ponder upon issues like Paid News, Advertorials, Manipulation of news and Bias in news. The meager pay packages by Vernacular press is also an issue of concern.It is the time to retrospect where the fault lies.
Let Journalism be the passion but the money making profession, a career of truth but a career of fame.
Wish we could have more in depth substantial discussion in the department but practical exam occupies and limit us to the online forum.
